MEMBERSHIP

NATIONAL FEDERATIONS


If you are seeking recognition as a national governing body (National Member Federation, NF) for an Obstacle Sport or related discipline, instructions are available in the World Obstacle Joining Kit and Membership Criteria documents from World Obstacle. Members of EOSF are the national federations of World Obstacle in Europe and must complete and return the Joining Kit to be considered for affiliation. 


European organisations granted membership of World Obstacle are automatically assigned membership of EOSF. Multiple organizations may be recognized in a country, but there can only be one NF member (with voting rights). If more than one organisation is seeking membership, collaboration will be encouraged and assistance provided to facilitate cooperation.


CLUBS, LEAGUES AND ASSOCIATIONS


If you are seeking recognition as an European association, club, league or similar organization, please contact EOSF. Note that affiliated organizations cannot operate only in one country (it must be operate in more than one country within Europe) and has no voting rights at the general assembly.


GOVERNING BODY STATUS


The NF must be recognized as the governing body for the sport in their country or be working toward recognition. The applicable National Olympic Committee (NOC) and/or National Sports Authority (NSA) must confirm this status. 


NFs working toward recognition may be granted membership provided they are actively seeking approval as their recognized national governing body for Obstacle Sports or a related sport in their country.

Become a Member

The members of EOSF are the national federations and associations representing each country in the European Continental Zone of World Obstacle.


Collectively, the members make up the General Assembly, which is the highest executive power of EOSF. 


National members of federations of World Obstacle representing countries in Europe automatically assigned membership of EOSF.

If you are seeking recognition as a national governing body (National Member Federation) for an Obstacle Sport or related discipline, instructions are available in the  FISO Joining Kit and Membership Criteria documents. 


Organizations must complete and return the National Federation Membership Application to be considered for affiliation.

If you are seeking recognition as an international association, club, league or similar organization, please complete and return the Affiliation Request Form. 


Please note that affiliated organizations cannot operate only in one country (it must be a global organization with international members) and have no voting rights at the general assembly.

Governing Body Status

The NF constitution must include clauses:

  • referring all unresolved disputes between the NF, EOSF or FISO to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS); and
  • for Anti-Doping Rules that comply with the WADA Code and FISO Anti-Doping Rules.

Membership Requirements

National Member Federations (NFs) wishing to become a member of EOSF must meet the requirements detailed in the EOSF and FISO General Statutes.

European organisations granted membership of FISO are automatically assigned membership of EOSF. There can only be one NF member for each country.

An annual report must be submitted each year, and shall include:


  1. Address, telephone and email of the NF
  2. List of elected officers, i.e., Executive Board or Board of Directors
  3. An indication that the Executive Board has gender balance. Provide their names and positions.
  4. Dates and Results of major Championships and events held during the previous year
